Frequently Asked Questions

  • What kind of items should I include in my clothing drop? Premium/Name Brand women's and men's clothes, shoes, hats, belts, purses, backpacks, jackets, and scarves.
  • Can I get any items back from my clothing drop? No. All items placed in the bin become property of PoshDrop and cannot be returned.
  • What happens to the items in my clothing drop? What we decide to buy, we resell. Everything else is donated to charity.
  • How long does it take to receive payment for items that you buy? We typically pay within 48 hours, and only via PayPal or Venmo, depending on the payment method you provide during sign up. These are the only payment methods we support currently.
  • What charity receives the items that you don't buy? Currently we donate everything not purchased to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Utah (BBBSU).
  • Can I get a donation slip to be used at tax time for the clothes that are donated? Yes. A link to the form is here
  • How much do you pay for items? We Only Buy PREMIUM and DESIGNER brands. Brands we buy include those you will find at upscale stores like Nordstrom, Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Boutique shops like Coach, Burberry, Kenneth Cole, Cole Haan, Hugo Boss, Nike, Adidas, Lululemon, etc. We DO NOT BUY and DONATE ALL Mass Market & Value brands (Gap, Old Navy, Target brands, Walmart brands, Forever 21, rue21, American Eagle, Sien, etc.) to charity. For items we decide to buy (and this is at our sole discretion), we typically pay 10-15% of the current resale value for the item at a Thrift Store (EBAY's TeraPeak is a good reference). For example, if the item sells for around $20 on EBAY, we will pay between $2 to $3 for the item.
  • Are the prices you pay for items negotiable? No. By placing your clothing drop in the bin, clothes become property of PoshDrop.
  • How do you prevent bins from getting full? We have special sensors inside the bin to detect how full they are.
  • What if the donation bin is full? If this does happen, please notify us via Chat on our website. Do not place your bag(s) in the bin. Please check the bin later in the day or the following day to make your drop.
  • How often do you empty your bins? We empty them daily, and anytime our sensors indicate that one is getting full.
  • How secure are items that I put into the bin? We use high-quality locks and have sensors on the bins that can detect movement and intrusion. We also place our bins in areas that are well-lit and typically have video surveillance.
